DESCRIPTIONS FOR TOURNAMENTS
MEDAL PLAY
Medal Play is “regular golf.” Count every stroke from tee through last putt. Enter the gross hole-by-hole under each person’s name on the scorecard. At the end of the round, total your Gross score, deduct your Handicap, and enter your Net score.
LOW NET
Keep both a Tournament and a Handicap scorecard. Total your Gross score, deduct your handicap, and enter your Net score. Only the net scores will be used to determine the winners.
LOW PUTTS
Keep both a Tournament and a Handicap scorecard. On Tournament card enter putts only. On Handicap card keep full score. A PUTT IS COUNTED ONLY WHEN YOU ARE ON THE GREEN.
SCRAMBLE
All players hit a tee shot (don’t forget: WHIFFS count as a shot). The Captain (usually the “A” player, but could be otherwise) determines the best ball. Place a tee marker by this ball. All players then hit within a club length of the marker, but no closer to the hole, and not moving from rough to fairway. Place a mark—either a dot or an X--on the scorecard for that hole under the name of the player whose tee shot was used. Continue play on that hole by using the best ball from each spot until the hole is completed. When marking balls on the green, play from within six inches from the marker, no closer to the hole. Enter one score for your team in the center of the card. ALL players MUST have one tee shot and no more than three. The scorecard MUST reflect this by either dots or X’s by each player’s name. Any player may have more than the required minimum tee shots, but not fewer. If you are missing a player, the other players on the team take turns hitting the tee shots for the missing person for the entire hole. (Suggestion: Use a dedicated ball for the missing person.) Only ONE tee shot is required for the missing player.
TEE TO GREEN
Keep both a Tournament and a Handicap scorecard. On the Tournament Card, record your strokes from tee to green only. On the Handicap Card, count all strokes, including putts. The Scoring Committee will calculate the handicaps and the net scores. [70% handicap]

FIVE HARDEST HOLES
Keep both a Tournament and a Handicap scorecard. The five hardest holes are determined by the handicap-per-hole printed on the scorecard which will be highlighted. The Scoring Committee will calculate the handicaps and the net scores. [60% handicap]
