GWGA BOARD MEETING March 20, 2024
Meeting opened at 7:15 with the pledge
Kevin welcomed the CAB, Past Presidents and new member George Lord.
Treasurer's report- Mary reviewed current financials for league, fundraiser and GWGA

Golf Shop Kevin Schloerb will be in charge going forward

Janet reported about 110 members for 2024 so far
Kevin welcomed Marian, a new employee of the golf shop

Golf Tea MARCH 3 was successful for all leagues and events
First meeting Apr 17
First play date is April 24
Golf Clinics begin April 8, 15, 22, 29 then into May
Mondays 10-12 pm
Men`s
Need to know by Monday, April 1st if joining league

Handicap Joe T. no report
Handicap System Kevin announced when you sign up and pay for your membership dues, that's when you will be placed into the handicap system, golfsoftware . An email will then be sent to you with your password to sign in.
Flyers were available to read about how to use the handicap system using a phone or computer.
Kevin said there would be a class on using the system for all who need assistance.
Sherry for the Wow`s, Bill for the Men`s and Sherry or Joe for the mixed league, will be posting the scores for their league play.
The scores will automatically be adjusted if posting hole by hole

Saturday, March 30 “End of Winter Tournament” raindate 4/6
Last day for sign up, Monday, March 25
Scramble, could make own foursomes if you want, 9 or 18,
Breakfast, FREE
Next tournament Saturday, April 13, “Spring Open”
Golf Course
Hit from temporary tees now, and by first tournament they will
be moved back onto the tee box…..The tee boxes need time to
recover from the winter. Kurt aerated the tee boxes, laid stone dust
on the back of 14 green, and stakes and ropes have been placed on
the right side of the hole to keep carts off of rough for grass to grow.
Rakes and water will be out by the end of month,
Saturday, July 20 Fundraiser rain date July 21, the next day
“SUMMER CLASSIC”
The purpose for our fundraiser is to raise money for the golf course
improvements and to benefit our community.
Sponsorships are coming in with a few more needed. Now we are
looking for Pot O Gold, and Breakfast sponsor.
Hole Sponsors $50, and Flag Sponsors $100 are always a popular
item and are selling fast.
$ 40 entrance fee includes –Breakfast, / 18 holes of skills challenges, a total of $1000 CASH prizes for men and women, Awards Luncheon, raffles, 50/50 and special prizes. Carts are limited ( $15 ea.)
All leagues and committees will be updating their information on our website
