Purpose of a Handicap: The purpose of a golf handicap system has always been to attempt to level the playing field for golfers of different abilities, so that those golfers can compete equally.
Players in Greenbriar`s golf leagues and our GWGA monthly tournaments will need an established handicap on our course. Our leagues allow you to play in weekly games without a handicap but you won`t be eligible for prizes and winning until your handicap is established.
Players who enter the GWGA`s monthly tournaments must have a current handicap on our course with-in the past 2 years. 5 scores on front and 5 scores on back will be needed to enter the monthly tournaments.
How to establish a current handicap: Scorecards must be attested by another player, who you play with, their scores recorded also and handed into the golf shop, or in the scorecard mailboxes located on hole #9 ,and hole #18 after the green .
Please write on scorecard…..”please start handicap for me”. Please print your your first and last name on the card.
Handicap Revisions: Will be available the 1st of every month on the GWGA website, www.gwga.weebly.com , and posted in the golf shop and outside the golf shop in the alley.
